Monday Teen Girls

Term 3 (9 Weeks)

Program description

Social thinking is what we do when we interact with people- we think about them. How we think about people affects how we behave, how others respond to us, and our own emotions.

Our social skills sessions develop children’s skills to think about others and how to modify their behaviours in response. Sessions develop theory of mind, perspective, self-awareness and others, body language, the way we talk, conversation skills and assertiveness.

Program Objectives

This group is run for teenage girls with social skills difficulties, to create a supportive and encouraging group environment to teach social skills and allow for functional practice with age-matched peers under the supervision of speech pathologists. It is essential that the topics of this program remain flexible to support all areas of social difficulties (e.g cyber safety)
