Tuesday PEERS Program

14 Week Program

Program description

Peers for adolescents is an evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated teenagers who are interested in learning new ways of making and keeping friends. This program is designed for adolescent aged between 14-18 years. We have space for 8 participants. Care giver’s of a Support Workers will also need to attend as a seperate caregiver program runs alongside the adolescent program. 

The program will be run by Jess Carpenter and Anni Cron, Speech Therapists at our Frankston clinic on a Tuesday from 5pm-6:30pm. 

When: Tuesday’s from 5pm – 6.30pm 

Where: Peninsula Speech Plus Frankston clinic, 16 Davey Street, Frankston (parking via Bay Lane)

Program Objectives

During each group session, teens are taught important social skills and are given the opportunity to practice these skills in session during socialisation activities.

Caregivers attend separate sessions at the same time and are taught how to assist their teen in making and keeping friends by helping expand their social network and help coach weekly homework assignments.
